Supporting Our Friendship City, Bangkok, in Tackling Its Waste Problem! ～We created educational videos in collaboration with Fukuoka-based companies and organizations～

Bangkok, Thailand—a friendship city of our prefecture—is facing a growing waste problem as urban development progresses, and waste reduction has become a major challenge. To support efforts in resolving this issue, our prefecture is carrying out an environmental cooperation project with Bangkok.

As part of this project, we produced educational videos for Bangkok residents showcasing examples of 3R initiatives (Reducing, Reusing, Recycling) implemented by local businesses and organizations, and provided them to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

The videos feature Bangkok’s official character and a Fukuoka-born YouTuber living in Bangkok as navigators, encouraging citizens to view waste problems as a personal responsibility and take action.

By utilizing these videos for local education, we hope to raise awareness about waste separation and recycling among Bangkok residents while further strengthening the friendly relationship between our cities.
